Are you seeking for ways to stay away from stress and be as healthy as can be? As many college students may know, keeping up with a set routine and schedule can be very difficult. Personally, my schedule can go from consistent to crazy in a blink of an eye! I like to keep myself organized and have a personal goal each day. Throughout this post I will explain ways in which I keep my body and mind healthy and calm.
Let’s start with my eating habits, I have weighed between 111 and 125 pounds throughout all of high school and now college, I am about 5’2 and pretty healthy if you ask me. Now how do I keep this up? It’s simple! First off, I try to keep the same routine within my meals every week, sometimes I’ll change a couple things here and there, and I also like to treat myself to a yummy snack once or twice a week. I definitely try to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner but with my work, school, and cheer schedule that sometimes doesn’t happen. For breakfast I either make a strawberry, blueberry, and flax seed smoothie mixed with water, or I make eggs cooked in an avocado with a side of bacon and fruit with some water. For lunch I eat a salad mixed with grilled chicken, shrimp or just chopped up ham with water. Finally, for dinner I like to cook different things every week. Things I’ve cooked in the past month are, zucchini pasta with tomato sauce, grilled chicken topped with melted cheese and a side of cauliflower rice with veggies, and lastly the third thing is carved out zucchini filled with ground beef and topped with melted cheese and creamy tomato sauce with some water. Throughout the day I like to snack on nature valley granola bars or blue diamond almond snack packs and I drink lots of WATER all day. I would say that my diet is very clean and healthy so once in a while I like to treat myself to some cookies or chips mainly on Saturdays and Sundays just to keep my weekdays clean.

Moving on to my schedules and organizing my life. I pretty much have a set school, work and practice schedule but fitting in my exercise, sleep, skincare, studying, and me time schedule is what gets chaotic. I keep a white board on the back of my door with a monthly calendar, a planner for all my studying needs, a to do list magnet on my fridge, reminders on my I phone and sticky notes on my laptop desktop. I know this may sound crazy but without all these things my life would be turned upside down. I like to manage my time by setting hourly schedules for everything, I leave about two hours every night for studying, two hours for a little cardio and abs and whatever time is left for chilling out in bed and watching shows on my laptop until I fall asleep. Next, I make sure I spend about five to eight minutes in the mornings and nights to wash my face and apply any products necessary. I like to sleep from about 11pm to about 9 am every weekday, and on weekends I usually do any grocery shopping, cleaning and studying necessary as well as spend time with friends or just relaxing in my room.
This is pretty much an overview of how I keep my life organized and on a set routine as best as I can on top of being an everyday college student. I know things may get chaotic especially around midterm or finals week but, my best advice to you during those times would be to make sure you eat something healthy, drink lots of water, and just try and set a temporary schedule that will keep you on track and finishing any tasks necessary as early as possible. I hope you enjoyed this little inside scoop to my life style and stay updated with my next posts. See you soon! Lots of love. XOXO -Esmer
